What is reality in a digital space? Artist Kohei Nawa’s poetic works at his solo show Aether at Pace Gallery uses technology to explore perceptions of reality and the relationship between the sentient and non-sentient. In this show Nawa uses lasers to interpret seeds, 3D scanned figures created from data to interpret figures, “Velvet” surfaces collect villi such as moss and hypha, and 3D modelling of a drop of highly viscous liquid stacked on itself.
