Each year the Open Source Gallery Soup Kitchen brings together artists, cooks, friends, and neighbors for a month of cooking, eating, sharing and celebrating!
Please join artist Jac Lahav and curator Michele Jaslow on December 10 from 6-9pm for a night of good food, conversation and pinatas. Main dish will be vegetarian along with good bread, salad, and something sweet. Pinata fun at 6:30pm.
About Jac Lahav
Abshalom Jac Lahav (he/them) is a Persian Polish artist, curator, author born in Jerusalem (Israel). Raised in the United States, Lahav graduated with an MFA from Brooklyn College where they studied with Vito Acconci. Lahav’s work involves re-telling narratives about community, belonging, and cultural history. With solo painting shows at Richmond Art Museum Indiana, Longview MFA Texas, Saginaw Art Museum Michigan, Florence Griswold Museum Connecticut, Lahav’s work can be found in multiple public collections including the Jewish Museum Milwaukee, Mount Holyoke Art Museum, Jewish Museum NY among others. Attendees of the Open Source Gallery Soup Kitchen series are neighbors, artists, people who are down on their luck, or some who are simply hungry. Sometimes the conversation flows easily, sometimes not, but the food is nearly always tasty (it’s New York, after all–we have standards!)
